Health & Safety Prosecutions

The Ouless Room, Jersey Museum
Monday, 14 March 2016
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)

I am delighted to confirm we will be running a lunchtime CPD session on Monday 14th March on the topic of Health & Safety Prosecutions.

The importance of safe systems in a working environment cannot be understated and it brings with it a statutory requirement for all businesses to have Employers' Liability indemnity cover in place.

Advocate Lee Ingram FCII will provide attendees with an overview of the legal process when a breach under the employment legislation occurs. He will explain the process, from first interview before the health and safety inspectorate, right up to the sentencing before the Royal Court. This will include an examination of the various factors the Court considers when determining a fine for the breach and how the industry can assist in educating policyholders at a very early stage to ensure that it has all of the mitigating factors available to it before the Court.

This seminar will be held in the Ouless Room at the Jersey Museum at 12:45pm for a 1pm start, with lunch provided. The event will last approximately 1 hour and is free to all who attend.

Please confirm if you wish to attend by replying to this email before 5pm on Thursday 10th March.
