Summary - This lecture will cover environmental damage and pollution claims and the aim will be to assist brokers, underwriters and claims staff to better understand these type of claims which often have an unfair reputation for substantial cost and dissatisfied customers.

By the end of this lecture, delegates will be able to identify:

• How an investigation takes place and the role of an environmental consultant in claims
• The regulators involved in this type of claim
• Methods of remediation
• Policy cover available in the market specifically for environmental impairment
• Legal liability/legislation

Speaker Biography

Mike’s background is over 30 years as a Chartered Loss Adjuster. He now works for OHES Environmental a leading environmental consultancy working for insurers, brokers, loss adjusters and commercial clients to assist with environmental risk reduction and claims involving damage to the environment. Prior to joining OHES he was Head of Environmental Claims at one of the leading loss adjusting companies
