Sprinkler systems: All you need to know

Time: Registration and lunch: 12:30pm, Lecture: 1pm-2pm

This lecture will provide an overview of sprinkler systems including both how the whole system works, the system classes depending on the type of property and how this fits in to insurance requirements. Given the topical nature of fire protections following Grenfell this should be a useful presentation across insurers and brokers alike.

Learning objectives
By the end of this lecture, delegates will be able to identiy:
- how sprinkler systems work
- what makes an effective sprinkler system
- what type of water supply are in use
- non conventional sprinkler systems
- potential for water damage
- why install sprinklers and what might it cost
- an insurers view

Speaker's Biography
Duncan started his career in 1979 as an apprentice at Mather and Platt in Manchester (a famous sprinkler company). Following various moves within the sprinkler industry he joined Sun Alliance in the mid 1990s as a sprinkler surveyor. Since then he has worked for RSA, Marsh and now AXA as a Sprinkler Surveyor.
He represents AXA at the Risc Authority where The LPC sprinkler standards are drawn up.
