IIL Visit to Cammell Laird!!

In October 1952, the Insurance Institute of Liverpool visited Cammell Laird Shipbuilders in Birkenhead as part of their series of “Inspection Visits” designed to help Underwriters and Claims managers understand the industries that they insured locally.

65 years later, with grateful thanks to the Directors at Cammell Laird today, we have been able to arrange a return guided tour for up to 30 of our members to visit the shipyard and be shown all aspects of the operations at Birkenhead today.

The tour starts at 5pm prompt and will last approximately 2 hours. Sturdy shoes are required and a majority of the tour will be outdoors in the event of rain or wind!

Everyone is welcome but places are strictly limited to 30 so it will be first come, first booked. Please share this invitation with other members of IIL – I would like our members to have first option to book but I will open it up to our wider colleagues after Wednesday next week.

If you would like to join us on the tour, We will be issued with protective equipment, hard hats and jackets on the day. Details have to be confirmed to Cammell Laird for security purposes by close of play on Friday 29th September.

We are strictly limited to 30 people - If you book a place and do not attend, you will be invoiced for a £10 cancellation fee.
