It's all in the game!

It was a horrible, wet, cold afternoon, but the teams arrived in fighting spirit for arguably one of the best tournaments to date. Two groups of five teams battling for the overall title of 2019 winners! What a start, from the off, Chubb (a late entrant to the tournament) took on and thrashed last years’ victors Crawford in a 6-0 drubbing. Meanwhile in Group B there were great results from Reich and also the eventual Group winners Allianz who, like Chubb went unbeaten in the Group and by some margin.

Worthy runners up were Reich and Bollington’s who fought hard against some tough competition to make it through to the Semi-Finals.

Lots of hope from all sides, the fixtures were set, Unbeaten Chubb vs Reich, and Unbeaten Allianz vs Bollington. Sadly for the runners up, all hope was quashed Chubb allowed no goals in and put 3 past a string Reich team, and Allianz totally dominated Bollington with a 12-0 victory.

And so to the final, and what a tantalising prospect, both teams unbeaten, both with remarkable goal differences, Allianz previous tournament winners and with a better goal difference, which way would it go!!? Both teams battled admirably in tough conditions, there were 7 goals, lots of twists and turns, but Chubb came out victorious with an outstanding 4-3 win, two worthy finalists, became one team of very worthy champions, this could be the start of something very special, if Chubb can avoid injury, we could be looking at a new domineering force in the IIM champions league!
