This workshop will help delegates who are new to the role, or those who have not had any formal training in their role as supervisor or team leader. Attendees will learn and understand about the bredth and depth of skills required to master this key role in the modern business world.

Aim of this workshop:

This workshop is designed to set down a foundation across a range of topics around the leadership role, including the key responsibilities
It looks at the jigsaw of skills required and will focus on a number of important areas (for example, dealing with difficult people, overcoming barriers to change).
It will enable supervisors to examine the power of a positive attitude and motivation, learn new skills, pick up pragmatic hints and tips plus discuss the debate techniques and best practise including how to implement change successfully.
It will help build confidence in day to day activities in this important role and help achieve keys tasks and targets.
We cover a lot in a day and we aim to make the sessions hands-on and practical so that delegates gain the most out of this valuable day and can apply what they have learnt back at the workplace.
This course is designed for existing supervisors and team leaders with some experience in the role, for those who are new to the role and not had any formal leadership training, but also for aspiring team leaders as part of their personal development programmes.

Understanding the role of the Supervisor/Team Leader
Motivation - self and others
Dealing with 'difficult' people/overcoming barriers to change
Communication - verbal/body language/meetings/presentations
Building rapport and influencing skills
Being assertive - when, why and how?
Delegation
Training and coaching your team
This is an interactive day using presentation and discussion/syndicate excercises/'live' case studies and practice sessions. The delegates will also have the opportunity to raise any specific issues they want to raise in advance so that these can be covered during the session.

Start time: 9.00am registration for a 9.15am start - 4.00pm (finish)
The cost: £149 plus vat per delegate for a full day and this includes lunch and refreshments
