Webinar: A plain English explanation of how to answer the most common question of the moment: 'does my Bi policy cover Covid-19?'

Alan Chandler, who is well known to our members having delivered a number of well received presentations, will be presenting a thirty minute simple to understand presentation on what so many policyholders are asking, which is 'does my Business interruption policy cover Covid -19 ?'.

The UK government said that by declaring Covid-19 a notifiable disease it would trigger Business interruption policies so that they will cover any losses - we will explore whether this statement is correct.

It is essential that brokers, underwriters and claims staff alike have a full understanding of what the correct commercial insurance position is on the virus that is disrupting all our lives. It is not just policyholders who are asking this question, we all know friends and family who run small businesses and they will be asking anyone who works in insurance what the position is and why. This presentation will give you the answers.

Alan will explore briefly the background of Business interruption cover in the UK and focus specifically on the Bi extensions that may or may not cover Covid-19. It will be done in Alan's plain English style so that you can go away and feel confident in talking about how Bi cover responds to the biggest issue of the day.

Speaker Biography
Alan has undertaken operational management roles in three major global companies - NatWest Insurance Services, RBS Insurance Group and Allianz Insurance. He has run underwriting, broking and claims functions. Ten years ago he set up his own training company, something that he had always longed to do as he is passionate about training. Since then he has trained well over a thousand people to become ACII qualified including six individuals who have achieved the best ACII completion in the whole of the United Kingdom.
