Ghost broking is a growing problem in the insurance industry. Ghost brokers prey on customers and insurance companies. It is not just the young and vulnerable who are victims of ghost broking. High net worth clients are also targeted. By looking at real-life cases we will examine what ghost broking is, typical tactics used, detection methods and strategies to counter this menace.

By the end of the session, attendees will be:

  • describe what ghost broking is and how it is impacting the insurance industry and customers
  • identify the red flags and typical tactics used by ghost brokers
  • explain the risks of ghost boking to client and implement a strategy to counter the risks

Speaker biography
Jeff Heasman is a professional trainer and consultant with many years of experience working within the insurance and legal industries as a litigation executive and senior liability adjuster. He holds a postgraduate certificate in English language teaching to adults, has both a bachelor and master of laws degree, is a certified practitioner member of the Academy of Modern Applied Psychology and a member of the Association for Business Psychology.
