Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • GDPR proposals (wider applicability than current Data Protection Act 1998, enhanced obligations, increased individual rights and a massive 4% global turnover maximum penalty for breaches)
  • Increased cost and complexity of compliance
  • The need for clear consents and only processing in line with contractual requirements and nothing more
  • Obligations to ensure third parties comply and mandatory reporting breach obligations

The briefing will focus on the General Insurance and Financial Services sector with discussion around marketing consents, use of data for underwriting purposes and to tackle fraud and to deal
with insureds who have had a track record and may ask for erasure!

There will be a buffet including buffet lunch pre-lecture.
