13.30 - 14.30 Has the FCA been in touch? Top tips on handling their enquiry by James Dingwall, Thistle Initiatives

If you are contacted by the FCA, be it an email or a visit, there are right and wrong ways of dealing with it. James will share examples of what to do and what not to do and explain why evidencing good governance and leadership are a must.

14.30 - 15.20 Memory Skills by Shirine Vincent, BiteSize Learning

During this session, delegates will 1) learn and practice several techniques to increase their ability to recall key facts and data 2) develop skills for recalling names and faces 3) discover how mind-maps can help organise information to maximise recall and 4) create and utilise a personal "journey system" to recall impressive lists of information.

15.20 - 15.40 Coffee break and networking

15.40 - 16.40 The Financial Ombudsman Service for Financial Advisers by Laura McCormack

This group discussion workshop will cover 1) a chance to challenge myths and rumours about how the ombudsman service works 2) the key tools that a small business can use to improve complaint handling and consumer experience when something goes wrong 3) a comprehensive discussion about the way the ombudsman can help businesses deal with complaints 4) a case study to show how the ombudsman's process and principles work in practice.

16.40 - 16.45 Young Members Introduction by Zoe Thomas Dip CII and Richard Cohen FPFS, ACII

16.45 - 17.00 Consolidate Today's Learning by Mark Longford FCII, President, Insurance Institute of Sussex
