View event detailsWEBINAR - Personal Injury Claims - Where next?
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS – WHERE NEXT? Overview of webinar Over the last 30 years, few areas of the insurance market have seen such frequent and significant changes than that of personal injury claims. Various reforms have been introduced in attempts to tackle sensitive issues such as access to justice, fraud, legal fees and their effect on premium levels. Unsurprisingly these have generated strong feelings on all sides of the argument. The Civil Liability Act, now scheduled to take effect in April 2021, will introduce what are likely to be the most sweeping changes yet. This presentation looks at the background to the current market for injury claims and how it will be affected by the CLA. It predicts the likely consequences for insurers, intermediaries, claimants and the insuring public and takes into account other topical and disrupting factors in the Motor market such as Ogden, general claims inflation and now the dramatic onset of Covid-19. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A ZOOM WEBINAR. Zoom can be safely accessed by most smartphones

View event detailsWEBINAR Vicarious Liability: have we reached the final destination?
Overview On 1 April 2020, the Supreme Court handed down its judgments in two highly important cases for employers and the insurance industry: Various Claimants v Barclays Bank and Various Claimants v Morrisons. The Court of Appeal had held Barclays to be vicariously liable for the actions of an independent contractor and Morrisons liable for a major data breach committed by a rogue employee who was subsequently sentenced to prison. The Supreme Court has overturned both decisions. In recent years, the law relating to vicarious liability has been in constant motion. What did the Supreme Court say in the Barclays and Morrisons judgments and how will this impact employers and insurance companies? Have we finally got some certainty in this area of law? This thought-provoking webinar will look at both sides of the argument and assess how best employers and the insurance industry can adapt to these recent developments.

View event detailsWEBINAR - Vulnerable Customers
The FCA have found following a thematic review that vulnerable customers are often not treated fairly. In fact many Insurers pricing models have taken significant advantage of these customers, often the more vulnerable the customer the more the insurer has loaded rates at renewal. Some of the UK's largest institutions have been guilty of proactively targeting these individuals and the regulator has had enough of Insurers and brokers balancing their books on the most vulnerable in our society. The FCA have announced they will be investigating dual pricing, a lot of this will because the advantage taken of the vulnerable - expect some serious action by the FCA. This presentation is aimed at brokers, underwriters, claims staff and IFA's. Free to members, but limited to 60 subscribers
View event detailsWEBINAR 2- Communicating in Uncertain Times - Jeff Heasman
The webinar draws on my insurance, legal, communication and psychology qualifications. There is so much misinformation out there right now and so much anxiety. Communication skills have never been so important. This webinar provides tips on what to say and what not to say. How to say it and how not to say it. Technical knowledge is the foundation but if we cannot communicate with customers in a way that is effective, especially in the current climate, we risk alienating our customers and losing business as well as reputation. Format of the webinar Those joining will not be able to speak during the webinar but will be able to submit written questions (anonymously if they choose) and I will deal with the Q&A at the end. I have allotted 45 minutes to speak and 15 minutes for a Q&A. I will also be doing some polling during the webinar to ensure it is as interactive as possible. The results are published but are anonymous.
