Lecture Details

Delivered by Dr Jake Irwin, a forensic scientist and Regional Manager at Hawkins; this seminar will summarise the scientific background of fire and its behaviour. He will cover case studies of deliberate and accidental fires, considering how these burn in real life situations, and therefore how to avoid them. Weather and venue permitting there will also be some live demonstrations.

A sandwich lunch will be provided from 12pm with the lecture due to commence at 12.30pm and finishing between 130 & 2pm.

  • See how these principles can be applied in real situations;
  • Recognise fire risks and how these can be mitigated;
