Business development is one of the major challenges facing financial advisory and wealth firms across the world. It’s also the case that most new business for financial advisers comes from referrals via existing client and centres of influence.

This session aims to explore the state of referrals for financial advisers across the world, and will explore practical techniques for structuring an improved pipeline of ideal client referrals to advisers through the application of effective client communication theory and practices.

Andrew Walker - Regional Director and Vice President

Based in the London office, Andrew helps financial advisers develop an understanding of capital market research and its application to portfolio management. He is also responsible for constructing portfolio analysis presentations for advisers, training advisers in asset allocation and portfolio construction using proprietary software, and consulting with advisers on practice management issues. Andrew has more than 30 years of experience working with financial advisers. Prior to joining Dimensional, he was a business development manager for Vanguard Asset Management, where he was responsible for distribution and promotion of mutual funds and ETFs via intermediaries in the East Midlands and East Anglia.He is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and holds the Investment Management Certificate and a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
