The Insurance Institute of Perth & Dundee is happy to announce that their next forum will focus on the hugely topical subject of Flood.

The event will focus on what can be done to minimise future economic and social harm caused by flooding and improve resilience.

The forum will follow the tried and tested forum format of a panel of speakers giving their thoughts on the chosen topic of flood.

Learning objectives:
By attending this event delegates will be able to identify:

  • The Flood Re operational model
  • How flood damage affects customers and what insurers can do to help
  • What is being done to reduce the risk of flood risk and improve resilience.

The event will be chaired by Graham Smart, McLarens MD for Europe.

Mike Still, Chairman of BERG
An overview of BERG including how it came to be, the idea behind it, its aims and how it operates - what it feels like to be flooded and customer impacts.

Brendan McCafferty, CEO, Flood RE
An overview of Flood re: including how it came to be, the idea behind it, its aims and how it operates plus their vision of the future.

Ian Ferguson, Property Claims Director, Aviva
An overview on how insurers work with people and businesses to get them back to normal as soon as possible.

Terry Ahearn, SEPA
An overview on changing weather patterns and how Flood Alerts work in practice plus what are the mechanics behind SEPA keeping the public abreast of threats.
