WEBINAR: Motor Bodily Injury - Whiplash Reform

The Insurance Institute of Perth and Dundee is delighted to announce that their next online CPD event will focus on the changes to motor bodily injury claims caused by soft tissue injury or “whiplash”. The UK market has seen an increase in the number of injury claims due to whiplash and following lobbying by the industry the Government has taken action so as to lower insurance costs and these changes will come into force later this year.

This workshop will benefit our general insurance members involved in motor underwriting, broking and claims handling.

Our speaker is Rachael Harkins who has worked at Aviva for 16 years, the first 7 of which being spent in Personal Lines Sales, Service and Underwriting. She then joined claims as a Motor Bodily Injury handler progressing to be a team leader before taking on a project which looked at Aviva’s end to end motor system working in our Motor Damage teams. She is currently a Casualty Indemnity Lead in charge of overseeing Aviva’s indemnity spend management programmes across all of Casualty claims and has responsibility for implementing the whiplash reforms.
