12:30 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Alastair Murray, The Bureau

Alastair Murray and his company, The Bureau, are responsible for hundreds of websites belonging to insurance, financial and legal services firms; many that hold personal, confidential and online transactional data.

His talk on cyber-crime and security will highlight the very real dangers of cyber-attack while offering timely advice on how to keep up with developments and stay safe online by taking some simple steps to improve defences against cyber-crime - ‘The Cyber Essentials’.

During the presentation, he also will demonstrate a now not uncommon ‘hack’ of an office network and show how easy it is for office staff to fall victim to phishing fraud.

The key learning objectives from this session include:

  • The commercial benefits of securing the Cyber Essentials Accreditation.

  • Reasons for learning how to use office networks and systems safely.

  • The need for cyber awareness training and better staff protection.

  • The importance of cyber liability insurance protection.
