Half Day Seminar commencing with lunch

With the European General Data Protection Regulation coming in to force on 25th May 2018, the clock is ticking for companies to prepare themselves for the biggest shake up of data protection laws in over 20 years. There has been much talk around the implications of this, but mainly focusing on the ‘fear, uncertainty and doubt’ of the potential penalties that may be imposed.

This session will focus on what the Regulation actually means for businesses, why it is needed, how it will be implemented (bearing Brexit in mind), and what risks / opportunities are likely to be presented to organisations both within and outside of the insurance industry.”

In terms of learning outcomes, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the main provisions of the GDPR

  • Understand what impact GDPR is likely to have on businesses

  • Understand how the insurance industry will have to adapt, and how the scope is broader than ‘just’ cyber cover.
