More about our speaker

Simon is a risk manager, a fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, and also a chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, and a chartered insurance practitioner. He has a background in insurance claims, motor fleet, public and employers liability; and is actively involved in helping clients to manage business risk on a daily basis.

'There is reasonably significant demand (for this presentation), especially in light of increased criminal issues as far as health and safety legislation is concerned, along with the impact of the revision to the Ogden tables from a civil point of view. It helps brokers to better understand the importance of documented assessment and control measures etc, especially when they will be asking their clients for more money at renewal because the claims experience has gone up.'

Learning Objectives:

This introduction to Claims Defensibility is not about avoiding payment, rather getting your systems right. Aimed at client, broker, handler and underwriter level; attendees will be provided with an easy to understand overview of:

  • What is needed to make a successful liability claim defence, if warranted.
  • How and why it is linked in with health and safety.
  • How you can put the right processes and procedures in place to protect yourselves and your business.

A sandwich lunch and refreshments are included.

This event is free to attend and has been funded by the Insurance Institute of Reading.

Booking closes on 24th September 2018

However, if you need to cancel your booking after 24th September, we will still be liable for the delegate rate for your place and there will be a cancellation fee due of £35.
