Annual Golf Day 2020 Results

We are in the business of risk management; so as expected, we pondered over proceeding with our annual golf day this year as we seriously put our members’ health and safety to our heart.

It took some careful consideration and discussions over the venue’s distancing protocol. The decision to proceed was only made once the venue agreed to keep all teams of four separated and employ a rolling delivery of start times along with food and drink services direct to the tables.

We are grateful for this decision as record numbers flocked to Sitwell Park Golf Club and everyone enjoyed an afternoon of great golf. General Insurance and Personal Finance are alive and well in the Sheffield and surrounding district.

Yes, it was different this year with no networking, no mixing and no presentations on the day. Many members passed over like ships in the night, but that’s 2020 for you and we were pleased to have received positive event feedback since.

Receipts of near £400 shared between two deserving local charities was the icing on the cake.

We are thankful for everyone’s support under the current circumstances and would like to congratulate all the winners of this year’s game:

  • Pair’s Competition: Kevin Moynihan and Hem Athi
  • Open and Handicapped Singles: Rob Batham
  • Ladies Winner: Gail McManus
  • Open Runner-Up: Andrew Osguthorpe
  • Nearest the Pin: Martin McDonagh
  • Nearest the Line: Paul West
  • Charity Raffle Winner: John Dunseath

A final mention to our Andy Marsh and Alan Sensicall for running the day. Top efforts from your dedicated council members.

Please pencil in the date, 10 September 2021, in your diaries.

We hope to see you all again next year!
