Know Your Limits

Different rules and limits have made it challenging for clients trying to understand how much they can save into pensions, some allowing greater scope whilst others restrict funding, sometimes leaving the client to incur a tax charge.

Full advice in this area, particularly leading up to the end of a tax-year, ensures that this is avoided and demonstrates the benefit of quality independent financial advice. Equally, when accessing pension funds, there are more considerations and options for your clients than ever before.

In this session, Gareth Davies will review the main rules and limits around both accumulating funds in pensions and accessing them flexibly – allowing you to confidently navigate through the maze of current pensions legislation.

Learning Objectives

The session will cover key considerations for annual allowance, lifetime allowance, tax relief, carry forward and money purchase annual allowance specifically.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

understand the fundamental pension related reliefs and allowances

1, Understand these limits for the current year

2, Demonstrate the benefits of these and how and when they work together

Attendance will be limited to allow interaction and peer group sharing.
