AF4 (Investment Planning) Pre-Exam Training, Friday 4th September 2020 - Day 1 and Tuesday 22nd September - Day 2

The Personal Finance Society Hants and Dorset Regional Committee in association with the Insurance Institutes of Bournemouth and Southampton have organised a training day for those members who are studying for and taking the AF4 examination.

As AF4 is a large topic to cover, the training has been split into Day 1 and Day 2 to fully cover the subjects involved. Delegates are advised to attend both sessions.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Regional Committees have suspended all Face to Face events for 2020. This will be an online distance learning event.

The cost of the day’s training will be £82 for PFS members and £92 for non-PFS members. Your attendance will be confirmed once you have booked online. There is a maximum of 12 attendees. If we are oversubscribed, you will be placed on a waiting list.

The day will commence at 0930 sharp and finish by 1630, with breaks timetabled for lunch etc throughout the day.

The AF4 preparation day aims to increase your chances of passing the exam.

AF4 is a challenging exam and candidates need to be well prepared if they are to have a reasonable chance of passing.

This will be very much a revision day so it’s important that you come with a reasonable knowledge of the main subjects of the syllabus.

Day 1:

  • Economics and the impact on investments

  • Features, risks and returns of direct investments and collective investments

  • Range of portfolio management services

Day 2:

  • Company performance

  • Measurement of risk and return

  • Constructing an investment portfolio, investment styles and management of risk and return

The course trainer is Dean Scott, who via his firm L&D Digital provide comprehensive financial services training support to the CII and some major financial institutions.
