RO1 Day 1 (Financial services, regulation and ethics) Pre Exam Training, Wednesday 10th March 2021

The Personal Finance Society Hants & Dorset, Surrey and Thames Valley Regional Committees in association with the Insurance Institutes of Bournemouth, Guildford, Reading and Southampton have organised a ‘distance learning’ training day via an online and interactive conference video facility for those members who are studying for and taking the RO1 examination.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all face to face training organised by the Regional Committees has been suspended for 2021.

The cost is £49 for PFS members and total £59 for non-PFS members. Your attendance will be confirmed once you have booked online. There is a maximum of 16 attendees. If we are oversubscribed, you will be placed on a waiting list.

The day will commence at 0930 sharp and finish by 1630 with comfort breaks.

The RO1 course aims to increase your chances of passing the exam.

The course will cover the following areas:

  • Main areas of financial advice
  • Relevant legal concepts
  • Regulation of financial services
  • FCA Handbook
  • Advice framework
  • Principles and Ethics
  • Exam technique

By the end of the course, delegates will have covered the key elements of the RO1 syllabus with the emphasis on the CII Learning Outcomes, will have been introduced to the exam format and adopting a suitable exam technique.

Our 2021 online revision programme is being co-ordinated by Dean Scott and L&D Digital Solutions. The course trainer is Giles Hewitt, a CII approved trainer, based in Cornwall who runs his own training consultancy, Hewitt Financial Training Ltd.
