FCA launches 'Live & Local'

A new regional programme to help local firms engage with regulators

What it is
FCA are launching a new regional engagement programme in March 2016 that will see us travel to 12 regions across the UK over the course of the following year. The programme is aimed primarily at the flexible firm audience and will focus on three main sectors:
-Investments;
-Mortgages; and
-General Insurance

The event offering consists of:
-Roundtables: firms take part in an open forum with a panel of FCA and industry representatives
-Surgeries: firms can discuss any specific issues facing their business, the needs of their clients or any other issues across the spectrum of regulated financial advice with an FCA supervisor
-Supervisory workshops: a focus on the subject of 'Professional governance' for the investment sector, and ‘Delivering fair customer outcomes’ for the GI sector*
-Positive Compliance sessions
-‘Culture and governance – focus on GI’ sessions*

The regional programme will also include ad-hoc events in certain regions where they know there are clusters of firms involved in certain sectors. They will also offer ad-hoc lunches with the Chairman.

Follow Up
Whilst out on the programme, they will be there to help firms and listen to their views. They want to work in partnership with firms to help deliver more effective, competitive and fair financial services. They may approach members of your senior management to sit on the panel at our roundtable event – the aim is to have a mix of senior FCA staff and industry members to give a rounded view on the topics discussed.
