Croquet Evening

Sussex County Croquet Club
Thursday, 09 July 2015
5:45 pm – 9:00 pm (UK time)

Once again, members are invited to join the Insurance Institute of Sussex for our annual croquet tournamentwhich will be taking place at the Sussex County Croquet Club on Thursday 9 July 2015.

During a light-hearted evening of recreational croquet (where lack of experience has so far proved to be an asset!) pairs will challenge for the Centenary Trophy as they find out just how exacting this seemingly gentle sport can be!

With expert coaching being provided, you can learn about the high degree of skill that is necessary to master the intricacies of this technically demanding pastime.

The fun starts at 5.45 for 6.00pm and costs just £5.00 per person which includes a delicious Ploughman's to round things off rather nicely once it is too dark (or too cold) to keep playing. The event is open to all members, who may each bring one guest. Don't worry if you want to come alone, we will find you a team-mate on the night!

Hot and cold drinks can be purchased from the bar throughout the evening, including a special cocktail (alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions are available).

Please make sure you wear flat-soled shoes or trainers to avoid damaging the lawns. You are also advised to bring a jumper or similar as it can apparently turn quite cold once the sun has gone down!

To reserve your place, please use our online booking and payment system by clicking on the "Book Now" button below.

If bringing a guest, please make sure they are added separately using the "Add Another Attendee" button within the booking form.

To assist with catering, please make sure you book your place by Friday 3 July at the latest.

Getting there
By car - there is ample free parking at the site. If following your Satnav, please do not use the Club's postcode as your destination as you will end up at the (locked) back door! Instead set the address as Kingston Lane or enter the postcode for Shoreham College - BN43 6YW (which is immediately opposite the Club) and ignore the final few directions onto the campus.

By train - the Club is about 15 minutes' walk from Southwick rail station.

By bus - Stagecoach route 700 (between Brighton and Worthing area) stops on the coast road near the bottom of Kingston Lane. This is about 5 minutes' walk from the Club.
