Different professions, different perspectives
Insurance data is critical to everyone involved in insurance, yet with underwriters, actuaries and accountants all looking at this data in different ways, this can lead to communication problems between the groups (partly to answer the different questions each area asks!).
If you would like to understand these different views of data and explore the advantages and disadvantages of each, join us on Thursday 28 June as Dave Westall leads this free 1.5 hour CPD seminar at Clair Hall, Haywards Heath.
Starting at the slightly earlier time (5.45), Dave will define the concepts of "combined ratio" and "return-on-equity" and he will also explore a model to "translate" between "accountant speak" and "underwriter speak" - with a copy of the Excel model being emailed to each attendee.
This event is open to all members and their guests. To reserve your place at this seminar, please use our online booking form by clicking on the Book Now button below.
Light refreshments (tea/coffee/juice and biscuits) will be available from 5.30pm onwards. Please note this seminar will start slightly earlier than usual at 5.45pm.
By the end of this seminar, delegates will:
- have a better understanding of the different perspectives within an insurer
- be able to identity the advantages and disadvantages of the ways that data can be interpreted
There is plenty of free on-site parking at Clair Hall and Haywards Heath Station is just a few minutes' walk away.
This demonstrates the quality of an event and that it meets CII member CPD scheme requirements.
1 1/2 hours' CPD can be claimed for this event if relevant to your learning and development needs.
It is recommended that you keep any evidence of the CPD activity you have completed and upload copies to the recording tool as the CII may ask to see this if your record is selected for review. Details of the scheme can be viewed online at www.cii.co.uk/cpd.
