People Security and Social Engineering

Clair Hall
Tuesday, 27 September 2016
5:30 pm – 7:00 pm (UK time)

In August 2015, it was reported that the accountant of a firm received an email from her CEO (who was on holiday at the time) asking her to transfer funds to a third party so that a "time-sensitive acquisition" could take place.

This request was followed up by an expected email from the a lawyer which included the CEO's signature and company seal. Unfortunately, it was only when speaking to the CEO the next day that the accountant discovered she had been the victim of a cyber crime - by which time $737,000 had already been transferred to an account in China!

This type of socially engineered crime is increasing exponentially year on year and it is only a matter of time before you, or someone you know, becomes the victim of such a crime.

To find out what you can do to minimise the risks of such a threat, join us at 5.30 for 6.00pm on Tuesday 27 September at Clair Hall, as we welcome back Chris Cooper, Senior Security Consultant at Surecloud to share his expertise with us.
