The Digital Hostage
The Digital Hostage: Ransomware in the Workplace
Following the recent attacks against the NHS and other organisations, it is clear that ransomware is one of the key emerging threats across both Financial Services and the vast majority of industry sectors and government.
The Insurance Institute of Sussex is therefore delighted to see Chris Cooper, Security Consultant and Tester at SureCloud, return to talk to us about this complex subject that includes several areas of information security including phishing, social engineering, malware/viruses and security patching.
During his talk, Chris will bring these subjects into perspective for both businesses and end-users, helping them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the risks and how to manage them.
By drawing on his personal experiences in simulating ransomware attacks for his clients and analysis of attacks that occur in the public eye, Chris will also give delegates a solid understanding on how to defend themselves and their businesses from general malware and phishing attacks.
To join us at the free one-hour seminar, please use our online booking system by clicking on the Book Now button below.
This event is open to all members and their guests and light refreshments (tea/coffee/juice and biscuits) will be available from 5.30pm onwards before a prompt 6.00pm start.
By the end of the seminar, delegates will:
understand how different types of ransomware work
know the impact that a ransomware can have on an organisation
gain a knowledge of how ransomware fits into the wider information security picture (malware, social engineering, etc)
understand how ransomware and other types of malware can infiltrate an organisation
be able to identify the key steps in preventing and preparing for ransomware and similar attacks
know what to do in the event of a ransomware attack
There is plenty of free on-site parking at Clair Hall and Haywards Heath Station is just a few minutes' walk away.
