Cost of Living Crisis – A Message from The Insurance Charities

From this month the cost-of-living crisis will place the greatest pressure in recent years on households across the UK and Ireland.

With Ofgem having increased the energy price cap by 54 per cent, a sharp rise in fuel bills will combine with several other factors, resulting in what some experts predict will be the sharpest drop in living standards in decades.

In addition to food and petrol prices escalating, many of us are likely to see rises in:

  • Council tax payments
  • National insurance contributions
  • Water bills

Those receiving benefits will receive an uplift of just 3.1 per cent, in the face of inflation which could hit eight per cent.

We’d like to take this opportunity to remind all current and former insurance employees (including those we have helped in the past) we are here to support you with ongoing and one-off financial support wherever it’s needed. We understand that things are difficult now and sometimes some additional help may be needed.

It doesn’t matter what role you’ve had in the industry, and you don’t need to be a member of a trade association or body to apply.

Our full eligibility criteria and simple online application form can be found here.

If you have any questions do get in touch, and please share our details with those in your professional networks who may need our support.
