Lunchtime CPD Networking - Apr 2019 - Terrorism - A Dynamic Risk

Overview:

Sarah will join us to provide an overview of the key aspects of the Pool Re Scheme and consider how the threat of terrorism in the UK has changed over time. Sarah will cover the 2017 terrorist events in the UK, how these demonstrate the dynamic nature of the risk along with how cover is evolving.

Speaker:

Sarah Moore – Pool Re

Sarah is a Chartered Insurer and has over 20 years of industry experience gained within a branch network and head office environment, holding a variety of broker, technical underwriting and Management roles.

Sarah joined Pool Re in 2013 as a Technical Manager and is now Head of the Commercial and Customer Engagement Team, focused on providing an excellent customer service across the areas of Technical (underwriting), Claims and Distribution.

Audience / Objectives:

The session is aimed at all CII/PFS members or guests with an interest in self-development.

Learning objectives:

• The introduction of & the outline of key aspects of the Pool Re scheme
• Consider how the threat of terrorism in UK has changed over time and will continue to do so.
• Examine why supported pooling mechanisms continue to be necessary
• Consider recent terrorist events in the UK in 2017 and how these illustrate the dynamic nature of the risk.
• Understand how terrorism can be modelled and how Pool Re/cover is evolving in the face of the changing nature of threat
