How can we help today?
President's Message

I am delighted to have been re-elected as President of the Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow for a second term.
Before anything else, I want to thank our Council members, committee volunteers and everyone who gives their time to support the IASG. As a volunteer-led organisation, the events, learning opportunities and initiatives we deliver simply would not happen without their commitment and enthusiasm. Over the past year, I have seen first-hand just how much work goes on behind the scenes, and I am incredibly grateful for it.The last year has been a busy and successful one for the Institute. We have delivered a varied programme of professional development events, covering topics ranging from artificial intelligence and emerging risks to financial planning, leadership and exam support. We have also continued to bring our members together through flagship events such as our Annual Dinner and PDG Conference, as well as social and networking events for members at every stage of their careers.
I am particularly proud of the progress we have made in supporting inclusion, wellbeing and future talent. Our Women in Insurance event was a real success, our Advanced Future Leaders Programme has been very well received, and our Young Professionals Committee continues to do fantastic work in helping the next generation feel connected to our profession.
We have also made a meaningful difference beyond our profession. Through the generosity of our members and the efforts of our Council, we raised more than £10,000 for our charity partner, the Scottish SPCA; a relationship we will continue with for the forthcoming term.
