The essential law and claims handling tips

This interactive session will provide an insight into the fundamental principles of the law that governs the duties owed between a principal and agent, the different types of agency and the similarities and differences between an agency and sub-contractor relationship.

Essential claims handling tips will also be provided to assist those who may encounter claims where disputes arise between agents and their principal or between a principal and their sub-contractors.

  • the core legal differences between an agency and a sub-contractor relationship

  • the practical application of the law when handling claims involving disputes between principles, agents and sub-contractors.

Speaker Biography
Jeff Heasman has a postgraduate certificate in English language teaching to adults, plus a bachelor and master of laws degree. He has many years' experience working within the insurance and legal professions in litigation and liability loss adjusting having handled litigation up to the Court of Appeal in London and dealt with insurance claims arising from many worldwide jurisdictions.

Jeff has lectured in legal, academic and business English as well as the language of international negotiation at many UK and international universities. He has delivered training in the law of torts and insurance law and practice to some of the world's largest and most prestigious organisations.
