Launch of new annual awards - Martin Leask Award for Financial Planning + Ian Fraser Award for General Insurance

Following the announcement of the Aberdeen Institute of Insurance and Financial Planning’s initiative to establish two new annual awards, the institute are pleased to inform members that nominations are now open.

These awards aim to recognise outstanding contributions and celebrate excellence within our profession, as well as to honour the legacy of two remarkable individuals:

• The Martin Leask Award for Financial Planning, sponsored by Johnston Carmichael Wealth, which acknowledges exceptional achievement and professionalism in financial planning.
• The Ian Fraser Award for General Insurance, sponsored by Marsh Commercial & Corporate UK, which celebrates excellence in the field of general insurance.

Nominations should outline how the nominee demonstrates the following qualities:

• Delivering exceptional performance in their role
• Innovation, commitment, and professionalism
• Dedication to ongoing professional development
• Active involvement in promoting and exemplifying sector standards

A panel of three professionals from the insurance and financial planning sectors will review the nominations. The winners will be announced at the Annual Dinner, scheduled to take place at the Chester Hotel on February 13th, 2026.
