Cashflow Planning – Engage, Inspire & Commit

Wednesday 27 May, 10:00 am - 11:30 am
John Whitehead, Founder & Principal, Future InSight
CPD

John is the Founder & Principal of Future-InSight – a business dedicated to all things cashflow modelling. Having worked in Financial Services for over 30 years he started his own cashflow journey over 8 years ago and this ultimately inspired him to create a business that provides outsourced cashflow support to help Financial Planners across the UK and Internationally. John and his team have worked with many businesses over the last few years delivering both technical and soft skills training, setting up and managing cashflow T&C frameworks or simply building and presenting models for Planners who don’t have the time or confidence to do it themselves.

John believes that everyone should have a cashflow model, a logistical conundrum perhaps but a worthy endeavour nonetheless, as it provides some much needed clarity and perspective on life and what their plan could help them achieve. Affectionately known as “The Cashflow Ninja” he believes that with good modelling your future really did just become a little clearer!

This session aims to help those who want to introduce and/or enhance cashflow modelling with their clients to achieve greater engagement, improved clarity and better outcomes. It will provide an understanding of how a technical, data heavy piece of software can be re-imagined as a tool for creating high quality, engaging, goals-based plans that have been co-authored with the client. We will explore how different elements of the dashboard can provide both insight and active prompts that will allow you to build a more comprehensive picture of both the clients’ current circumstances but also their future journey and aspirations. We will also look at some of the collaborative benefits that come from high quality cashflow modelling.

  • Understanding the difference between a box-filling process and a live engagement tool.
  •  Appreciate the value a cashflow model brings to your clients and how it helps with Consumer Duty.
  • Knowing some of the key areas within the dashboard that can lead to a deeper knowledge and understanding of your client
  • Gaining the ability to communicate in a different language – not all people appreciate, enjoy or understand lots of numbers
