Lunchtime Lecture: Insurance Technical Briefing - Salisbury Novichok Poisoning

Overview:

This session will consider the various ways in which BI policies may (or may not) respond to the challenges facing businesses in Salisbury following the Novichok contamination in March 2018. Further traces of Novichok have been identified more recently in Salisbury and elsewhere.

Issues to be addressed include:

  • Damage at the Premises
  • Non damage denial of access
  • Denial of Access
  • Loss of Attraction

In particular, key differences between policy wordings will be identified.

Biography:

Damian is a Director of and Head of Financial Risks at Sedgwick. Damian chairs the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) Business Interruption group, and has previously set business interruption examinations for the CILA. He regularly runs financial loss seminars throughout the UK and is a published author on the subject of business interruption, including co-chairing a widely read report on BI wordings issued by CILA and the IIL/CII (Chartered Insurance Institute).
