Lunchtime Lecture: GDPR - are you sure you have done what is needed?

Friday, 13 September 2019
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Branko Bjelobaba FCII, Senior Consultant on FCA Compliance & CII Accredited Advanced General Insurance Trainer, Branko Limited

This event is for all manner of firms handling any type of client data (with a focus on GI broking).

With the Information Commissioner's intention to fine global organisations BA an eye-watering £183m and Marriott Hotels £99m and 37 significant financial penalties (including £60,000 to an insurance broker) levied since 25 May 2018 - have you made ALL the changes required by the new legislation and are you on top of PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations)?

By the end of this event delegates will have gained an insight into:

  • The enhanced compliance requirement and increased individual rights (with a rather large sanction of up to €20m or 4% of global group turnover for serious breaches)
  • The increased cost and complexity to ensure compliance
  • The need for establishing a clear legal basis for processing data and where content may/may not be needed
  • What market activities are now legal, including electronic ones!

The delegate pack will include a one page Privacy Notice for use by a broker and a one page summary that explains what marketing can/cannot be done by post, phone and email.

"Absolutely brilliant speaker. Possibly the best CII lecture I've ever been to! Made what could potentially be a very dry subject into a fascinating lecture. Thank you!"
