We would like to thank Allianz Insurance as our main sponsor.

Ian Harris, past president and current Head of Programme for Birmingham Insurance Institute, spoke about going back to the Grand:

Why the Grand Hotel?
It was where the Institute was founded and where we used to hold our lunchtime lectures before it shut for refurbishment. It is like the institute is coming home.

It is in the centre of the Birmingham insurance district and both it and its ballroom are fabulous venues.

What differences will we notice for the dinner?
The actual dinner will be less formal with fewer speeches and aimed at being what an institute dinner should be i.e., an opportunity for everyone involved in the profession to get together in one room; have a lovely meal; get a good chance to network and let their hair down.

It will be contained in one venue with us having access to a private bar and social area before, during and after the dinner. The bar and social area will also be available for those who don’t want to enjoy the post dinner entertainment on the dance floor.

Unlike the Town Hall we won’t have to move on to another venue to continue our evening as we have arranged for the bar to stay open till 2AM.

Surely the smaller venue and inflation will push up costs and the ticket costs?
We made a conscious effort to try to keep costs down and can confirm that we have managed to keep the ticket cost to the same as it was at our last dinner in 2019 i.e., £85. We will again offer a concessionary price of £65 a ticket for members under the age of 30 to try and encourage companies to invite employees and guests setting out on their insurance career.

Will there be sponsorship opportunities available to companies / suppliers?
Yes, there will be some sponsorship opportunities, and anyone interested in these should contact me via the Institute (birminghaminstitute@cii.co.uk) or via me at ian.harris@chubb.com

How can we buy tickets?
A limited number of tables and half-table bookings remain available for prospective attendees, as well as some places for individuals to book single tickets or a pair of tickets where they will sit with other members of the institute attending on their own. Our Young Professionals committee will be hosting a table so any young professionals who want to attend will be able to choose to sit with other younger members of the insurance profession.

It is on a Thursday night, what about staying in Birmingham for the night?
We have negotiated a 20% discount on room prices at the Grand Hotel for the night of the dinner. Details of the discount code will be confirmed to people booking tickets that want to know the discount code.

One advantage of having the dinner in the business district is that there are several alternative hotels & the Premier Inn all within a very short walk from the Grand.
