North East Insurance Institutes Webinar: Building the skills for tomorrow via apprenticeships

This session will cover how apprenticeships have evolved and how Direct Line are using apprenticeships as a vehicle to grow critical future skills, enable internal mobility and increase diversity.

We will cover:

  • Evolution of apprenticeships
  • The business case for apprenticeships
  • Hint and tips on how to successfully implement apprenticeships
  • How businesses are using apprenticeships to develop critical future skills (with a case study from Direct Line).


Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session delegates will be able to identify how to:

  • Improve understanding of today’s apprenticeships and how they have evolved
  • Generate some thoughts on how apprenticeships could help your business
  • Learn about common pitfalls when implementing apprenticeships and hints on how to successfully implement apprenticeships
  • Build a business case to obtain support and buy in


Speaker
Steph Bishop is hugely passionate about apprenticeships and has a wealth of experience of implementing apprenticeship programmes.

Her career started working in HR at IBM and over the past 15 years she has specialised in Emerging Talent and has been Head of Early Careers at Capgemini, worked as an independent Future Talent Consultant and is now the Emerging Careers Lead at Direct Line Group.

Steph lives in Petersfield, Hampshire with her 2 daughters and husband and when she is not “Apprenticeshipping” (what her daughters call her job) she loves swimming, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
