President's Message

Welcome to The Insurance Institute of Leeds. 2022 has been a whirlwind following our years of lockdown and the insurance world has not stood still. I think continuing the theme of Community and incorporating Resilience into 2023 makes sense, as businesses and individuals continue to diversify how and when they work. In the last 12 months it has been great to see insurers and brokers, along with other professions, offer more and more Apprenticeships and Training opportunities and I want to work on making GI and PFS a great known opportunity for school leavers, graduates and the general public to look at as a career of choice. I will support members of the council to help and join in with telling their insurance/PFS stories to encourage other young professionals into our profession.

We’re going to be continuing to raise money for charity this year. All money raised will be split between the Insurance Charities and my chosen charity for the year Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice help people with life-limiting conditions to live the best lives they possibly can. They support people through the most difficult times of their lives, with expert care and compassion from their doctors, Sue Ryder Nurses and carers.  This is a charity local to me and has supported my close friends and many others over the last few years. Manorlands arrange lots of different fundraising days, and hopefully lots of you want to get involved in events such as the Colour Run!
