Pension Flexibility

Pension flexibility is a hot topic at the moment, enabling greater flexibility as individuals are able to access their pension savings from age 55 due to new government legislation.

Paul will review the latest regulations and discuss how the changes will affect your clients by reviewing a detailed case study in this one-hour session.

Who should attend? All financial advisors and planners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of pension flexibility.

Learning objectives
This case study will appraise delegates of:

  • the most important changes that are due to take place with regard to pension flexibility from April 2015
  • how this will affect individuals depending on the type of pension plan or scheme that they are a member of
  • how those changes will impact on those individuals who are in or move into capped drawdown before 6th April 2015 and what their options will be
  • the restrictions that will apply to people who take flexible pension benefits but who still wish to pay pension contributions
  • the changes that have occurred to the taxation of lump sum death benefits paid under pension plans and look at the planning options that arise and
  • some of the traps and possible drawbacks of utilising the flexible pension rules

We are changing the format our lunchtime lecture charity raffle! There will be bigger and better prizes, and the raffle will be held in aid of Martin House Children's Hospice, and The Insurance Charities. In order to support this, tickets will now be £2 each for lectures going forwards.

Please don't forget to provide your membership number when registering and bring your membership card with you to the event. Registrations made followed by none attendance will be subject to a charge of £10 in order to cover catering costs. If you can no longer attend the event, please notify the institute by email or telephone as soon as possible so that your place can be given to another member.
