This in person seminar sees the latest event on the Insurance Institute of Leeds ongoing theme of “Community”.

Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE will provide a motivational talk that covers the importance of culture, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in the wider community.

Jamie will also discuss the relevance of these topics in helping people to develop and grow and to become the most authentic version of themselves.

Registration and lunch will be from 12.00pm, the presentation will be from 12.45 until 2.00pm.

Please note there is no car parking at this hotel but there are plenty of public car parks in the immediate area.

Jamie’s talk will include:

• His time and achievements within the Rugby League community and what he learned from this.
• His faith, why this is important to him and the role it plays in the community
• His media work and how this engages with a wider audience
• Jamie’s work with various charitable causes and why this is important to him
• Jamie’s personal experiences with E, D and I – the barriers and obstacles that he has had to overcome to reach his goals.

At the end of the event attendees will be be able to:

• Appreciate the importance of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity in the community
• Understand the role this plays in developing a vibrant and enlivened culture
• Understand how personal setbacks and challenges can be used to develop and grow as an individual
• See the role of sports teams such as the Leeds Rhinos in the local community - leaders on and off the field of play
• Gain insight into the role that Jamie himself and people in his network have played in helping specific communities and why it is important for people to challenge themselves for such causes.
• Learn new and additional techniques for leading your team

Speaker
Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE
As a professional rugby league player Jamie spent his entire career with Leeds Rhinos, winning seven Super League Grand Finals, three World Club Challenges, three League Leaders shields and one Challenge Cup Final. He also played for England and Great Britain at international level.

Jamie now sits on the board of the Leeds Rhinos where he is the Director of Culture, Diversity and Inclusivity. Since completing his playing career Jamie has also developed a career in the media, is an ambassador for a financial services company and has also tried his hand at acting.

He is also active with a number of charities and other causes which are central to his faith and his beliefs and which also underline his own personal sense of equality and community.
