The Insurance Institute of Leeds is pleased to invite applications to participate on the Leading Leaders Programme for 2026. This programme is designed to elevate personal performance, enhance self-awareness, and strengthen communication - unlocking both individual and team potential.

Overview and Learning Objectives

Format: A series of 4 x half day curated workshops with task based learning including a unique pre-engagement questionnaire which will provide an initial evaluation & Leadership Function Analysis leading to a confidential but thorough review of your current well-being & leadership engagement. The content of each session is as follows:

Session 1: Identifying Leadership Blind Spots (pre engagement insights). Gain clarity on the areas holding you back and unlock untapped influence. Leadership Styles & Strategic Thinking Maximise your productivity and inspire a high-performance mindset.

Session 2 Effective Communication & Team Dynamics. Eliminate friction and foster seamless colaboration. Mindset & Energy Management Deliberate strategy to boost focus, decision-making, and resilience.

Session 3 Harnessing Emotional Intelligence. Influence and lead with empathy, clarity, and purpose. Creating Team Synergy Build trust, cohesion, and alignment—the ‘secret sauce’ of elite teams.

Session 4 - (an opportunity to re-visit Session 1 Pre-engagement Profile.) Empowered Leadership Learn to lead by letting go. Delegation, trust, and team ownership. Defining & committing to your Individual Action Plan, a time when “you do you”.

Who Should Attend

Individuals committed to self-improvement with an interest in embedding applied well-being & leadership principles into their daily function. This may include, but is not limited to, team leaders, senior managers, directors, business owners and / or senior executive board directors.

Venue and Dates:

This is an in-person face-to-face training programme which will be held at The Met Hotel, 5 King Street, Leeds LS1 2HQ on the following dates:

  • 23rd January 2026
  • 6th March 2026
  • 17th April 2026
  • 5th June 2026

Each session will begin at 08.30am and will finish at 12.30pm.

Programme Lead:

Rich Hunwicks Mres, BSc Hons, ASCC - a distinguished high-performance coach and physical performance consultant with over two decades of experience in elite sport. Rich has held pivotal roles in elite environments including the English Institute of Sport, Leeds Rhinos, Catalans Dragons, and with the England National Team. (Full biography below).

  • Your CII Membership Number / PFS Membership Number
  • The name of your current business / your current employer
  • The position that you hold in the business
  • The number of employees you are responsible for
  • Explain in no more than 500 words the challenges that you have face in running your business or department / division why you think this programme would benefit you.

Applications must be received by Friday 12th December 2025, with successful applicants being notified by Friday 19th December 2025.
