This seminar will explain the provisions of the Riot (Damages) Act; how they are interpreted today and provide an update on the current Review of this legislation, including an assessment of the possible implications arising from the Review. By the end of the session delegates should understand:

  • The provisions of the Act and current legal precedent.
  • The proposed reforms planned and their implications.
  • The recoverability of Business Interruption costs under the legislation.

Philip Adamis is a dual qualified Chartered Loss Adjuster and Solicitor who has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years, specialising in liability and subrogated recoveries work. Philip regularly pursues recovery claims across a wide spectrum of perils, including fire, escape of water and geo-technical claims as well as claims under the Riot (Damages) Act. Philip is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute
