Webinar: Property insurance. understanding why there will be 15% + rate increases in 2022 A combination of higher materials and labour costs will mean insurers are likely to need 9.6% increases just to cover rebuild cost inflation in the UK. However, given most need additional rate strength of around 6% to balance their loss-making property books, this will mean policyholders looking at rate increases of around 15% in 2022 on top of the 2021 increases! Imports of sawn wood increased by 73% during 2021, steel sections by 60%, the current inflation rate for rebuilding materials is 20.3% which is a record 40 year high. Policyholders MUST understand why this is happening and whether it will continue. This presentation will provide the answers. Given the rebuild cost inflation is so high, the already significant worry of property under insurance in the UK is going to get worse. It is estimated that over 80% of policies have incorrect property sums insured and that is before the 2022 rebuild cost increases. This webinar looks at the major issue of under insurance in the UK property insurance market, why it is getting worse and how to help your clients avoid the under-insurance trap. The presentation, delivered by Alan Chandler one of the UK's most popular insurance presenters, is a must for brokers, underwriters and claims staff alike.

View event details(GI) How contract conditions can change the liability of an insured and why brokers must advise clients on this
Many policyholders sign contracts without realising they are potentially exposing themselves to liabilities that are not covered by their insurances. Often these contracts are signed in order to either win business or obtain key supplies, either way they are extending their liability beyond the potential protection provided by the liability insurer. Alan Chandler, one of the most popular presenters in the UK, will explore what Public and Products liability policies normally cover and what the position is at law when the policyholder extends their liability beyond this by signing certain contracts. The webinar will include exploring the consequences of the Insurance Act 2015 for failing to make a fair presentation of risk with regards to contract conditions, and how failure to guide policyholders around this matter could lead to a claim being turned down and all cover cancelled.

View event details(GI) Understanding Company Structures
It is essential all insurance staff have a good understanding of the different types of way in which a company could be structured and failing to understand these structures could lead to wrong cover being put in place. This webinar, provided by Alan Chandler one of the most popular presenters in the UK, will examine the difference between a soles trader, a partnership, a limited liability partnership, a private limited company and a public limited company. Alan will also explore the ways in which charities are formed. The leading case of Macaura v Northern insurance shows us that a policy will not respond if the insurance cover does not reflect the true structure of the company.
