Free training - Learn British Sign Language (BSL) for free through Mbro CII
The Insurance Institute of Middlesbrough would like to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities on the 3rd December, by offering a limited number of our members the chance to learn British Sign Language for free.
The BLS course is provided by British Sign and is designed for Beginners. The course is online, and contains 10 lessons that you can participate in at your own pace. Each lesson ends with an assessment, once the course is complete you are provided with a certificate once you have scored 85% or more. The course is a 20hr CPD accredited course and will be available for 2 years.
Our subscription to each course will also help fund free courses to those that do not have the financial means.

Household Insurance - Dealing with Under Insurance
This webinar, delivered by Alan Chandler, one of the most popular presenters in the UK, examines the challenge of making sure personal lines policyholders avoid under insurance.
Where the insured has to provide a building sum insured, only 10% of policyholders in the UK get this correct, we can therefore see there is a major issue of under insurance. Challenges also exist in bedroom rated policies. Inner limits are often not taken into account leaving a policyholder badly under insured at point of claim.
Alan will look at what needs to be taken into account in respect of setting Household policy cover on the correct footing.
