The AGM panel will include the CII’s Independent Chair, Dr Helen Phillips, who will be joined by our CEO, Sian Fisher, and CII President to December 2021, Julie Page. The meeting will include an update on the CII’s delivery of relevant learning, engaged membership and insightful leadership. What the CII has learned from the pandemic and how it will accelerate the pace of operational change to best serve members, students and corporate customers in the years ahead will also be discussed at the meeting.

Webinar - Vulnerable Customers
The FCA have found following a thematic review that vulnerable customers are often not treated fairly. In fact many Insurers pricing models have taken significant advantage of these customers, often the more vulnerable the customer the more the insurer has loaded rates at renewal. Some of the UK's largest institutions have been guilty of proactively targeting these individuals and the regulator has had enough of Insurers and brokers balancing their books on the most vulnerable in our society. The FCA have announced they will be investigating dual pricing, a lot of this will because the advantage taken of the vulnerable - expect some serious action by the FCA.

Webinar - The Whiplash Reforms
Whiplash reform was first proposed more than five years ago. The Civil Liability Act 2018 provided the necessary legal framework but developing the fine detail inevitably slipped because of the Covid crisis. The reforms are now on track and take effect from 31 May 2021. Damages awards are being reduced, the small claims limit is increasing and a new platform / portal for dealing with claims - www.officialinjuryclaim.org.uk - has been established
