Harrogate Local Committee lunchtime lecture

Time: 12.30pm - 2.00pm (hot lunch served from 12.30pm, lecture from 1pm)
Speakers: DAC Beachcroft Solicitors
Cost: Free

This lecture will review the new sentencing guidelines for Health & Safety offences and Corporate Manslaughter. The guidelines will result in much tougher fines and sentences for organisations and individuals, with the prospect of multi-million pound fines for larger organisations.
This session will be an opportunity to learn about the financial implications now facing organisations and individuals in the event of a serious work place accident. It will also cover the potential for increases in prosecution and defence costs as the prospect of higher fines leads to greater reliance on expert evidence, more trials and contested sentencing hearings.
DAC Beachcroft will also share with you ideas and best practice about how to help organisations minimise the financial, legal and reputation risks that arise when a serious accident occurs.
