The Insurance Institute of Aberdeen - Curling Night
Please join your local council for a night of curling. We have two lanes booked for two hours from 6pm. A maximum number of 20 curlers can take part with up to 4 spectators also welcome. Curling will be followed by a finger buffet.
Details of the Night
- Curling will begin at 6pm – please arrive at the rink around 10 minutes prior to allow time to for everyone to settle, coaches to introduce themselves and check all footwear is appropriate etc.
- The session is 2 hours on the ice so 6pm – 8pm. A finger buffet will be served after the curling at 8pm.
- The total cost for the curling & food is £45 per person - maximum of 20 participants
- Four people are welcome to come along as spectators only then enjoy the buffet with the group at a cost of £16 per person - the curling can be viewed from both downstairs in the lounge or upstairs in the viewing gallery, in the lounge there is a bar which will be open and serving hot & cold drinks and a select of bar snacks.
Footwear & Clothing
- Recommended Footwear - pair of clean trainers with good grip to be change into upon arrival, rubber soled shoes tend to work best. Avoid heels and boots as these do not grip as well and can damage the ice. Shoes are available to hire at the rink should anyone’s footwear be deemed inappropriate however, there is a limited number of these and sizes available
- Recommended Clothing - it is suggested warm, comfortable, loose fitting clothing – hats, gloves etc. Better to have more layers and then can remove as needed. Avoid clothing such as jeans as these tend to not be great for sliding and quite cold.
