Lunchtime Lecture: Social Media in the workplace

This is an increasingly hot topic, with more users than ever using social media for personal and work, but this lecture will focus on the dangers, best practice and other issues relating to Social Media.

Learning objectives: by attending this event you will have an understanding of -

  • The impact of social media for businesses
  • What could be deemed inappropriate on social media for businesses
  • How businesses can protect themselves

Speaker biography:

Omar graduated with a Masters in HR from Coventry University in 2006. His HR journey began with local authority before working in the NHS for nearly 8 years. He also has experience in Private and Voluntary sectors. His HR experience ranges from recruitment, to training, performance management as well as general HR. From January 2018 Omar began his journey with the HR Dept. The HR Dept is an HR franchise providing high class outsourced HR Services to SMEs in the Birmingham and surrounding areas. Omar won an award for Outstanding Start up business of the year award at the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce awards in later 2018. Aside from HR, Omar is married, with 2 kids, is a big Chelsea supporter and also loves Cricket.
