Hugh Thacker, Senior Aviation Surveyor and Adjuster

Hugh joined Crawford Aviation in September 2012. He previously held the position of Senior Surveyor with Airclaims where he was involved in numerous high profile and complicated claims with various airlines and operators. These include aircraft recovery co-ordination, damage assessment, aircraft repair processes (planning, monitoring and cost control) along with major loss handling, site restoration, environmental management, wreckage disposal, salvage sales, and evaluating the prospects for a subrogated recovery.

Prior to working in the Insurance sector, Hugh spent 17 years working within British Airways Engineering department, where he held various management positions and also spent time as an EASA approved Licensed Aircraft Engineer carrying out maintenance on British Airways fleet along with numerous foreign carriers both in the UK and overseas. Hugh also spent time as a CAA approved Engineering Instructor, along with carrying out various VIP flying engineer duties.
