Overview:

This is a topic for everyone and a fantastic opportunity to meet face to face again. Spaces on the tour are limited and on a first come, first served basis due to the RNLI volunteers availability so please book your attendance ASAP. Let us know in advance if you no longer can make it to give others an opportunity to take part

There is huge value in understanding how to build your personal brand and social media presence in a corporate role. It’s time to put you in the driving seat of your career.

The speaker will be sharing with you steps to build a strong personal brand in the corporate environment, so you can network with confidence, and take ownership of your career and future opportunities. A toolkit will be available at the end of the session.

After lunch, network and the CPD session (12:30 to 2pm) the volunteers would like to take you on a Discovery Tour of the RNLI. This is a 90 minutes optional tour which will take you through the College and the Sea Survival Centre, which mimics the conditions at sea. You will understand the RNLI history and will be taught how to survive and react on an incident at sea.

The aim is to let you experience and use the life boat simulator on the day but please note that the RNLI College is a working venue and so they cannot guarantee access to the wave tank or simulator if there is training been carried out.

Please be aware that the optional tour is 90 minutes long and there is walking involved. The building is designed to be fully accessible to all guests and the RNLI will happily accommodate any mobility or impairment aids. If you will be using a mobility aid on the day, please kindly make us aware in advance so that the RNLI can allow sufficient volunteer tour guide support, by emailing Jana Langdown on jlangdown@hotmail.co.uk Please also email us about any food allergies.

Learning Objectives:

Having a strong personal brand helps you to increase confidence, visibility, find new opportunities and create a memorable impact on others.

By the end of this session you will be able to:

• Understand what personal brand means in the work environment
• Become aware of the key areas that are stopping you from taking control of your personal brand and career
• Understand the components of building a strong personal brand
• Gain lasting tools to become confident and take charge of your personal brand
• Learn how to promote your personal brand, including social media, and get that next opportunity

Speaker: Sandra Lewin, Strategic Change & Operations Expert

Since leaving her full-time corporate role at Lloyd’s, Sandra has established her own company, Pair 2 Grow, providing consultancy services in insurance, as well as continuing to share her expertise on how to take control of your career and life.

With over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry in a number of roles: Broker, Analyst, Market Development Manager, Project Manager, Change Portfolio Manager, Programme Manager and Consultant, Sandra is passionate about helping others to find their path and career.

She has been there: lacking confidence, feeling stuck, afraid to negotiate, unsure of networking and feeling burned out. This session is right for you if you feel you are going through your career without much control as this can be damaging your confidence, leaving you feeling stressed and stuck. Sandra is originally from Poland and has lived in the UK for over 18 years. She is an Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Ambassador and travel enthusiast.

Audience:

The session is open to all CII insurance and PFS members or guests, including young professionals, who would like to learn about how to build your personal brand on a corporate role and take control of their career. Includes lunch, network and a tour of the RNLI College. It is free of charge for CII members.
