Dr Andrew Moncrieff will look at the age old idea of spontaneous human combustion, exploring reasons why a human body might suddenly burst into flames with no outside influences. He will be answering questions such as ‘what is it?’, ‘what does it involve?’ and ‘is it self-heating?’

This amusing and fun webinar will look at the magic of the Christmas story through the eyes of The Three Wise Insurance Execs, as they set out on their camels to reach The Lloyd´s Building in London, above which a guiding star shines brightly. During their journey the execs will meet the Ghosts of Insurance Past, Present & Future and they will enlighten us with a review of the insurance world in 2024, current issues, and what we can expect in 2025 and beyond. The story will be narrated by Jeff Heasman using specially commissioned artwork.

Give yourself the gift of presence as we celebrate the last Enabling Womens Careers Session of the Year! However you celebrate this season and even if you don't, it can be a challenge to keep up with priorties as the year comes to a close. Let's wrap up the calendar year with a gift to your self of a session fully focused on you, your needs now and how you wish for 2025 to be! This session will be live online on Zoom. It will not be recorded as we aim to create an environment as close to an in person session as possible which is safe space for members to express themselves, network and grow. These sessions are for all levels of PFS and CII and future topics will be established from member feedback within the group. The sessions are facilitated by Caroline who is a Certified Coach and NLP Trainer, however, these sessions are an exploration for all and so please bring your top tips to share with other members of the group and be open to explore and encourage each other. Please allow up to 90 minutes for this session and have your camera on to be able to interact with the group.

In January 2023 the Court of Appeal delivered its judgment in the case of Brian Leighton (Garages) Ltd v Allianz Insurance Plc. This was followed by the Court of Appeal´s judgment in The University of Exeter v Allianz Insurance Plc. These cases provide further guidance as to what should be taken into account when considering scope of cover and especially proximate cause and exclusions. In this session, Jeff Heasman will examine the key aspects of the judgments and their impact on insureds and insurers.

Multinational insurance can be considered one of the most complex areas of coverage due to its size, geographical spread, and compliance implications. This session will provide an introduction to multinational programmes from the perspective of customers, brokers and insurers using practical examples to highlight both the opportunities and challenges of working in a fast moving international environment.
